PRESS RELEASE
ANNO XXXII n. 7
21 March 2017
Pietro Tarantino
DELIBERATE 1st DEGREE MURDER CALLED EXPLANTATION
USING AN INVENTED DIAGNOSIS
We must not forget that a deliberate murder called explantation, carried out in a hospital using an invented diagnosis, has gone unpunished.
For 15 years the brother and
the wife of Pietro have fought for a regular criminal trial, where
the evidence could be debated in open court, but this has been
systematically denied to them.
So it still remains to be explained
why the Neurosurgical Department of Bergamo hospital ignored the
correct diagnosis given by the A. & E. Department of Vaprio d'Adda
hospital, where Pietro comes from, which says: “suspected
fracture of the base of the skull, with bilateral otorrhagia and
rinorrhagia”,
substituting it, on his admittance to Neurosurgery, with the
ready-prepared diagnosis of: “serious
cranio-cerebral injury. Fracture of the C2”
(the second cervical
vertebra). This is a
pure and simple invention, and has never been documented.
From medical records it is clear that neither
medication, nor treatment, nor monitoring of the patient under
ventilation was carried out, and even the antiedemigens begun at A.
& E. were stopped. Urgent lab tests “FOR EXPLANTATION” were
immediately requested, with the patient then transferred to
intensive care and labelled “ORGAN DONOR”, despite the repeated
opposition of the whole family. The coma was classified as
irreversible using Atropina, a drug which produces fixed dilation of
the pupils, and which is internationally banned. Without the
family's knownledge, an illegal declaration of “brain death” was
issued, and explantation of organs was carried out during the night:
the heart and kidneys with the inexplicable authorisation of the
Public Prosecutor's Office, and the pancreas without authorisation,
while from the post mortem examination it emerged that the liver and
aorta had been removed.
“It seems that the desire to carry out a transplant at any cost prevailed” wrote an expert from the Public Prosecutor's Office. Thus the 100th heart transplant in Bergamo was carried out during the night between Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday, evoking the wonder of the Resurrecion, according to the obedient press.
The trial process has undergone delays, hitches, postponements, amnesties, omissions, requests for dismissal, opposition and reopening, even two requests for transfer of the preliminary investigation because of failure to bring a criminal action by the Public Prosecutor. However, the Public Prosecutor managed to dismiss these requests and to keep the case under his control.
The process of investigation was terminated by the authorities after a farcical taking of evidence in the pretrial stage (which had been repeatedly denied to the members of the family) requested by the accused. During the hearing, the only people who spoke were the two experts of the court: the intensive care doctor and the coroner, both of whom were involved in the transplantation (not exactly disinterested parties!), with the total absence of any cross-questioning, and a veto on speaking, under threat of expulsion, for the four counsels of Tarantino. After 15 years, the Public Prosecutor asked for the 6th time for the case to be dismissed.
The investigating
magistrate, instead of officially asking the Public Prosecutor to
formulate the charges so as tio pass on to the trial phase, despite
recognizing in his ruling that some elements of the preliminary
investigation were not complete with regard to important facts (e.g.
the fact than the doctors who carried out the operation at A. & E.
in Vaprio d'Adda were never questioned by the police) declared that
“the
request for dismissal of the case by the 5 doctors under
investigation is hereby approved” because “the missing evidence
cannot now be considered in this case”.
Wrong: It could have been
considered, and it should have been considered. It is a question of
justice denied.
On the anniversary of the murder/explantation, family members,
friends, members of our association and citizens do not forget.
