PAOLO WAS TREATED LIKE RUBBISH
FOR RECYCLING
XX ANNIVERSARY OF THE EXPLANT OF PAOLO MONDO
This is my son. He
was 19 years old when I was deceived into signing for the donation of his organs.
“Paolo is dead” they said. Later I found out that he wasn’t dead. He was alive
because pulsating organs are needed for transplants.
Paolo, who grew in
my womb, whose birth was a joyful enterprise, who suckled at my breast, who was
a trained dancer and was raised to appreciate the aesthetics of life, Paolo was
downgraded into a lifeless container of spare parts.
The transplant-explant surgeons should have looked after him but instead they
considered him to be no more than rubbish to be recycled.
No-one would donate organs if the truth were told, and they know this only too well.
I will not forgive
them! These evil institutionalised “doctors” had the nerve to write to me
“that a team of psychologists and psychiatrists is on hand to provide
psychological assistance…the Specialized Assistance Centre for the families of
organ donors is available to resolve any problems which may arise and to gather
suggestions related to improving the organ transplanting initiative”. Their
cruelty is both shameless and provocative.
They believe that maternal sentiment is abnormal. They think that sentiment
should be wiped off the face of the earth as if it were a disease, so creating a
dehumanized society functional to their profits.
I will never find peace.
